Today's Buzz
November 23, 2008 - 2:05 PM by Toddy
So its been over 8 weeks since I last got my hair cut, which means I haven't got it cut since I moved. I have an acquaintance here that cuts hair, and I was more than willing to pay them the $40 they charge for a haircut, but when I texted them about setting up an appointment, they never responded. Obviously they are not the only person here capable of cutting my hair, but since I occasionally sport the buzzed look, which can easily be achieved from a pair of clippers, I decided to buy my own and attempt to do it myself. I think it turned out just about as good as if I had paid someone to do it. The neckline could probably be trimmed up better, but for the amount of money I will save doing it myself, I think it's worth it.

Needles in Haystacks

I can't believe that it has almost been 2 months since I moved! Unfortunately my life really hasn't changed that much yet, and although there are times I find myself questioning if moving here was the right decision, I am still optimistic that things will eventually get better. Meeting quality people for a _ship is proving to be just as difficult as finding a job. I attempted to before I even moved, and while I thought I had succeeded, a majority are singin' a different tune now that I actually live here. I've found 3 needles so far, so my attempt was not a complete failure. Hopefully that number will snowball as time progresses.

I posted an entry a little over a month ago (See " I got a job. I got a job. I got a job. Hey, Hey, Hey, Hey.") and I thought I would give a little update on how that is going. First things first, I absolutely love what I am doing! Unfortunately I have yet to receive the amount of ads proposed by the firm, which is affecting me both mentally and financially. I've been told conflicting information in regards to the amount of ads that they proposed, so I am not sure who to believe, if anyone. I will continue to remain optimistic in hopes that one day, in the not too distant future; I will finally receive the amount of ads proposed by the firm. Until that day arrives though, I think it is in my best interest to continue looking for alternatives, which I am doing as time allows.

The Great Cobalt Robbery
Last Friday I decided to go out to eat with a friend, so I got ready and went out to my car, which was parked in the street outside my apartment complex. Although my apartment complex does have a gated parking lot, there do not appear to be enough spaces for everyone that lives here, which was why I was forced to park in the street. Upon entering my car I noticed that the passenger side window had been broken out, which gave me a sudden surge of overwhelming anxiety and fear. The culprit removed 2 things from my possession, $5 in cash that I had in the center console and my Garmin Suction Cup Mount with 12-Volt Adapter (currently valued at $32.55 on Amazon.com). My assumption is that the culprit saw the Garmin Suction Cup Mount with 12-Volt Adapter and made the assumption that the Garmin nĂ¼vi 350 3.5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (currently valued at $154.99 on Amazon.com) was either in the center console or glove box, since they were both open when I entered the car, and decided to break in and steal it from me. Fortunately it was safe in my apartment, which I now find myself questioning the security of in addition to my car. Assuming my assumption is correct, it never dawned on me that having a Garmin Suction Cup Mount with 12-Volt Adapter would trigger the crime that occurred. I was fortunate to be able to get the window replaced the following day, which cost me $193.77. My insurance was of no benefit in this situation since my deductible is $500. As unfortunate at this incident was I learned my lesson and will never leave ANYTHING in my car ever again even, if it means having to carry around a man-purse from now on!
