I need some help. I have just over 2 days before the big move, and still so much to do: finish watching all the shows recorded on my DVR, pack and ship the 5 things I sold on eBay, go to Wal-Mart, wipe off closet shelves, clean the fridge, clean the stove, clean the windows, remove ceiling fans, remove track lighting, patch holes in wall, touch up the patched holes in wall, pick up moving truck, clean the shower, clean the toilet, finish packing, take care of all my financial obligations with my current apartment complex, fax a change of address form to Badpuppy, drop off the DVR, record videos, clean the kitchen and bathroom sinks, clean the kitchen and bathroom counter tops, vacuum, mop, and anything else I left off. I cannot wait to have my life back in order once again!
I know the amount of website updates have been lacking lately, but the drought is almost over. I have recorded a lot of new videos this past week and still have a lot more I plan on recording before I move. My goal is to record enough to keep the website updated regularly until I can find a “real” job and/or my future husband makes me take the website down because he doesn’t want to share with the World Wide Web anymore.
Have you ever sat down and counted the amount of birthday cards you buy in one year? If you think about all the trips you make to your nearest Hallmark store to purchase a single card, the time can really accumulate. I’ve been doing something a little different the last two years though. I make a list of everyone that I would need to buy a birthday card for within a year and go to the store to buy a card for everyone on that list. It takes some time to do this, but walking out of the store knowing you’ll never have to set foot in there for another year is a great feeling.
Every once in a while I will message some of my former tricks to see how they are doing. Somehow the series of messages with one of them transpired into discussion of my body in which the following was said: "This comes from my heart so don't get pissed. You are young enough to have a really fierce body if you worked on it. You are a little soft in places you shouldn't be. Get to the gym at least 4 days a week and tighten up." And "Start eating right and work out. You could be stunning instead of just cute."
As much as it hurt to read, I completely agree with what was said. It gave me the motivation I so desperately needed to start going to the gym on a regular basis again.
Another disadvantage to moving is that my 191lb 57” rear projection TV will not fit into the apartment I am moving into given the layout of the stairwells. Although I attempted to sell it on Craigslist, it appeared to be another one of those items that was just not in demand. As a last resort I made a flyer that I put up in the mail center at my apartment complex and was fortunate to find a family who was interested in it. Upon looking at it they agreed to purchase it. The next day they carried my 191lb 57” real projection TV down 2 flights of stairs. It was the most intense thing I think I have ever witnessed. There were a few close calls, but they managed to get it moved into their apartment without any problems. What a relief!
But now I am unfortunately without a TV, which really sucks considering a lot of my favorite shows are starting back up soon (30 Rock, Brothers & Sisters, Chuck, Desperate Housewives, Heroes, My Name is Earl, The Amazing Race, The Office, and Ugly Betty) not to mention all the shows I have been watching (Ace of Cakes, America’s Next Top Model, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader, Fringe, Kitchen Nightmares, Project Runway, Tabatha’s Salon Takeover, The Biggest Loser, The Rachel Zoe Project, and Top Design).
With that being said I have decided to purchase the 46" Bravia Z-Series LCD Flat Panel HDTV from Amazon by the end of the weekend as I can get it for $210.24 less than Best Buy or Circuit City, free shipping, no sales tax, and no interest for 24 months. Click here if you would like to send me an Amazon gift certificate that could be used towards this purchase.
Although I believe there are a lot of advantages to moving, one of the disadvantages will be my lack of storage space. With that being said I have taken to Craigslist in hopes of selling some items, which in my opinion, are just taking up space. It’s worked out pretty well and I have managed to get rid of a majority of the items I listed. Unfortunately some are just not in demand and/or an interested buyer has yet to discover the listing. I relisted those earlier this evening at a reduced price in hopes of appealing to those price conscious buyers. I really don’t want to contribute to the local landfill any more than I have so I am hoping I can find a buyer before I resort to that. If you live in a major city and have some items you want to sell you should definitely consider out Craigslist.
I am moving. On September 30, 2008 I will be hoping into my 16’ moving truck, and driving to the undisclosed location that I have decided to move to for various reasons. These past few weeks have been extremely stressful for me, because I have been overwhelmed with the amount of tasks on my to-do list. I plan on doing some blogs in the coming days about specific topics related to the move so stay tuned!
