Shame on you Amazon.com!
July 31, 2008 - 7:42 PM by Toddy
A family member purchased the Adobe Illustrator CS3 Classroom in a Book from Amazon.com for my birthday. It arrived damaged. Even though the corner was just a little dinged up, it bothered me, so I contacted them and requested a replacement. It also arrived damaged (same problem, different coner). I have come to the conclusion that Amazon.com is incapable of sending out books that are un-damaged, so I returned the book to them, and got it from a local bookstore. If you ever buy a book from Amazon.com, beware!

Toto, I Don’t Think We’re in Kansas Anymore!
July 3, 2008 - 11:06 AM by Toddy
Special thanks goes out to Roy for his donation to use towards the purchase of a GPS system for my Chevy Cobalt. When my parents were down for my graduation they got the Garmin Nüvi 260W to help make their trip home a bit easier and even though I only got to see it in action from the drive from my apartment complex to Texas Roadhouse, I thought it was pretty nifty. I have really wanted to travel to a nearby city to visit some friends, but my fear of getting lost has always held me back, so I decided to get a GPS system so that won’t be an issue. Now I just have to decide which model I want. I really like the model my parents got, but I think I am going to do a little research to see what alternatives with similar features are available, although I know I definitely want text-to-speech. I can't do anything until I get my new credit card from Chase anyway so I am in no hurry to reach a decision. Thanks again Roy!

UPDATE: I purchased the Nüvi 350.

iPhone 3G
July 2, 2008 - 2:36 AM by Toddy
Apple finally unveiled the iPhone 3G today and I am definitely going to attempt to buy one on July 11. Not sure how easy this will be since the new models start at $199, but we will see.

UPDATE: I am DEFINITELY NOT getting one. (I was gunna insert a little joke about getting raped here, but thought that someone might find it offensive so I decided to exclude it from this post). I am not sure who to blame for deception... Apple or AT&T. Apple announced a lower price of $199 to a thunderous applause. Had AT&T announced the accompanying plans at the same time I highly doubt a single clap would be heard. My main frustration is the fact that text messaging is extra. The data plan for the iPhone 3G includes 0 text messages so if you plan on doing any text messaging you have to tack on a text plan as well which offers 200 for $5, 1500 for $15, or unlimited for $20. According to my calculations the iPhone 3G will actually cost MORE than its predecessor in the long run (Assuming the plans are comparable). I pay about $59 + taxes now. If I were to get the iPhone 3G I will end up paying $89 + taxes (and let’s not forget $199 for the phone and $18 for the upgrade fee) Hmmm maybe I should do a "Toddython" and whoever sends me a donation will get my phone number...

I get so OCD
I found a really good deal on an unopened copy of the deluxe edition of Janet Jackson's 20 Y.O. CD on Half.com and ordered it last week. I was unaware that it came in a special package instead of a jewel case so I am a bit pissed off, because I am OCD like that. There is a standard edition that does come in a jewel case, but I am trying to find out whether or not it comes with the original artwork or the fugly ass fanmade artwork (IMO). I have emailed multiple sellers on Half.com inquiring about the matter, but have yet to receive a reply. I don't want to order anything until I am absolutely sure I am getting the standard edition that comes in a jewel case with the original artwork. Might have to just look around for it locally, which might cost more, but it would sure be a lot less stressful. Gotta love being OCD... NOT!

Zip Zero Zilch
I would first like to start off by saying that this post is not intended to be another one of my temper tantrums, but I would like to complain about the lack of comments on my Blog. The only reason I bring this up is because over the last few days I have received multiple emails with... comments... about some of my posts. While I certainly appreciate those emails, I ideally would have preferred that the senders would have utilized the comment feature of my website instead. Receiving comments lets me know that there are still people out there that visit my site, and I feel that knowing this will help motivate me to increase the frequency of updates. So start commenting or else... mwahahahaha.

The name's Bond, James Bond
Casino Royale is one of my FAVORITE movies (which might just be because I find Daniel Craig an incredibly sexy badass) so I was thrilled to read on ComingSoon.net that the trailer to the sequel Quantum of Solace finally made its debut. The movie looks amazing and I cannot wait till it comes out on November 7, 2008. Check it out below.

Into the groove
I was recently diagnosed (by myself) with post-college depression. I haven’t been motivated to do much of anything lately and it has really bothered me, because I just couldn’t seem to kick it. Even though its only Tuesday, this week appears to be going much better. I finally made it back to the gym yesterday and had an excellent chest and back workout which was followed by a nice relaxing 15 minute tanning session. When I got home I did my cardio by running 4 laps around my apartment complex, which nearly killed me, but as you can see I am still alive to tell the tale. The rest of the night was pretty chillaxing, but I did manage to get caught up on emails that I had put off replying to, because I just hadn't been in the mood. I decided to take today off from the gym and running, because my entire body ached (Anyone want to give me a full body massage?). Instead I decided to get out the cleaning supplies and do a TON TON TON of housewo... er apartmentwork. Hard telling what else I will get accomplished this week, but I think it’s safe to say that it will be far more than weeks past. *knock knock*
