After peering into my nearly empty fridge I decided I needed to head over to Wally World to get me some grub. After I swiped my card to pay for everything the cashier hands me a little piece of paper that said my card was declined. I like to think that I am pretty good with my finances. Even though I charge EVERYTHING (because I am hungry for Amazon points), I do pay my card off every month. I knew damn well that the balance of my card was nowhere near my credit limit so I knew something was wrong. I called Chase to find out what the problem was. Upon calling them the call was routed to their fraud department in which a list of recent transactions ($1,300 some, $900 some, $300 some, etc. etc.) were described, none of which I made. After being put on hold for a few minutes I finally got to speak with a customer service representative, but shortly into the phone call the guy was unable to hear me so the call was terminated. I called back immediately, but once again the customer service representative couldn’t hear me so the call was again terminated. Unable to resolve the situation at the store I had to go home and get my checkbook so that I could pay for everything. Shortly after I got home I received a phone call from another customer service representative about the recent calls I made to their fraud department. I was relieved that they could finally hear me. I had to go through every transaction with them that was made within the last few weeks so they could identify all of the fraudulent transactions (which appear to have all been made online). Fortunately I will not be held responsible for the fraudulent transactions. I should be getting a replacement card in about 5 days. I have no idea how whoever did this got my number, but I think I will start making it a daily ritual to log into the Chase website to monitor my account and make sure that there is not any suspicious activity going on.

Remember last month when I told ya’ll how embarrassed I was when my Grandma threw a fit about her Cosmo Martini not being made properly at the restaurant we went to the night before my graduation? Well in order to use up all of my vodka I decided to make some Cosmo Martinis (using her recipe of course) and thought this would be the perfect opportunity to share it with ya’ll. Cheers!
Ingredients: 1 oz Vodka 1 oz triple sec 3/4 oz fresh squeezed lime juice 1 1/2 oz cranberry juice

I’m sure some of you might be curious about how my job hunt is going, so I thought I would fill you in on what has happened since you were last updated. As you may know I was told I would receive a phone call on May 28, with a new “gameplan” since the prospective employer was unable to meet with me on May 27 as initially planned. To make a long story short as of June 8 I have yet to receive that phone call and have decided to give up hope that I ever will. As the days go by I find myself questioning if I would even want to work for someone who, in my opinion, has no respect for my time should I miraculously receive that phone call offering me the job. I really shouldn’t be surprised by what has happened, because as they say ‘If it’s too good to be true, then it probably is.’.
I know that I have a tendency to want things excessively so this is just another thing we can put on my wishlist, but Sony recently announced their XBR lineup and I really like the looks of the KDL-55XBR8. Although pricing and availability have yet to be announced I would really love to replace my rear-projection TV with a LCD flat panel. Hopefully I will have a job that will allow me to afford it by the time it hits the market as well.
Are gas prices crazy or what?! I spent over $40 yesterday filling up my Cobalt, which is probably not that much compared to what some of you may spend filling up your vehicle, but compared to previous years the whole situation just plain sucks. I'm really looking forward to the possibility of getting a Chevy Volt in 2010/2011. It will be able to go about 40 miles per charge so I think it would be perfect for me since I tend to put low mileage on my cars. Hopefully I will have a job that will allow me to afford it by the time it hits the market.
